Grooming

An important aspect of dance is discipline, therefore priority is given to quality of grooming and quality of work within the dance school. Students should at all times ensure that they are correctly groomed for all their classes. Hair must be correctly and neatly styled for the type of class you are attending.

Classical requires smooth hair in a bun, using pins and hair nets. This applies to kindy & pre-school, and pre-primary classes as well, wherever possible. Please ensure your child has hair nets, bobby pins and open hair pins in their bags as all teachers are happy to help with hair as time permits.

The correct leotard and ballet tights or socks must also be worn. All items are available from Dance Jam, (see links page) or through the second hand cupboard at each school. Remember, the parents running the second hand cupboards are doing so on a voluntary basis and as a favour to all of us. Please be sure to purchase the correct items as listed below. Items are too expensive to have shoes etc. which will not be suitable for exam or concerts.
